7/21/2009

Pro Rodopi Art Centre participates in CHANGING ROOM – a project by Trans Europe Halles which member PRAC is. It is a two-year pilot project looking for new ways of stimulating cross-border mobility of cultural operators.

By testing a staff exchange and training programme involving 25 member centres in 15 countries Trans Europe Halles will identify today’s barriers and opportunities for the circulation of cultural operators. The Staff Exchange Programme has its own blog (http://changingroom.teh.net/blog).

PRAC will send its financial manager Nikolina Gribacheva in the period 1-7 September 2009 in Riga, Lativa to NOASS (www.noass.lv). PRAC will possibly host somebody from the other participationg centres as part of this mobility programme as well.

CHANGING ROOM (www.teh.net/changingroom) also offers training workshops open to participants outside of Trans Europe Halles and a special workshop retreat for cultural leaders.

A public on-line mobility toolkit and a first-of-its-kind study by The Sibelius Academy, Helsinki will be one of the key results of CHANGING ROOM. The project will provide a topical insight on mobility of independent cultural operators today and how best to raise its value.

CHANGING ROOM (2009-2010) is one of four projects that were awarded support by the new European Commission funding line for networks supporting mobility. The project is co-organised by The Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, Finland, the largest music university in Scandinavia and Melkweg, an internationally renown multidisciplinary arts venue in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
