„European Performances for the Children of the Rhodopes“ (2025-26)
The project “European Performances for the Children of the Rhodopes” is initiated by Pro Rodopi Foundation. In the period from October 2025 to March 2026, the companies of Hop Signor from Greece, Eukitea from Germany, Staffan Bjorklund‘s Theatre from Sweden, Baruti from Spain and Lejo from the Netherlands will perform in Smolyan for children and adolescents from the region of the Central Rhodopes mountain. Staffan Bjorklund‘s Theatre and Baruti will also visit Burgas. The artists from the Spanish troupe will hold a workshop on “Theatrical Clowning” for the actors of Burgas State Puppet Theatre too.
As part of the project, Pro Rodopi Foundation will publish a portfolio book about its activities, in which it will tell its over 25-year history.
The project “European Performances for the Children of the Rhodopes” within the framework of the ” Adults Forbidden ” International Performing Arts Festival for Children and Youth Audiences is being implemented in accordance with Contract No. BG-RRP-11.016-0037-C01 under the procedure: “Scheme for grant aid “Presentation of contemporary European productions from the ICT sector to the Bulgarian audience” through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
